Blue Star Families Joins Forces with the First Lady, Dr. Biden and 1,600 American Museums to Give Free Admission to Military Families

Today, Blue Star Families announced the launch of Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 1,600 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel, including active Reserve and National Guard, and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2012.

Out of a field of 365,000 students, Kristen Dupard, a high school senior from Ridgeland, Mississippi, has won the 2012 Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest.

From Moscow, Idaho, to Pawtucket, Rhode Island, 53 students from across the country will converge in Washington, DC on May 14-15, 2012 to compete in the National Finals of Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest, the nation's largest youth poetry recitation competition.

2012 Cleveland Craft and Art Festival

Three empowering sessions Friday, May 11th through Sunday, May 13th at the Richmond Town Square Mall. Join us for a weekend of enlightenment as the Karamu House performs Gem of the Ocean, by August Wilson. The Cleveland Association of Black Storytellers will share with us, Wisdom Stories and local actress and radio personality, Danita Jackson will reveal the secret to, "Overcoming Your Fears of Public Speaking: ...because, we're only human." These exciting events are free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend.
