I enjoyed the auction! My piece sold and I bought one! Very nice affair.

What did you think of last night's auction? I'm curious to read the reactions of those that attended. This was my first Art Atlanta auction and only the second time my work has been exhibited in ATL. Even though my work didn't sell, I was pleased with  the size of the crowd and the quality of the artists' work was high.  I should have worn a sign that said " Hi! I'm a member of BAIA!" then I would have had a chance to meet some of you.

My cloth painting "La Croix de Guerre" was also selected  for this year's event. It depicts two members of the all Black American "Harlem Hellfighters" 369th Infantry, which General Pershing 'loaned' to the 16th Division of the French Army during WWI. After numerous incidences of bravery, and several individual medals, the entire unit was awarded France's highest wartime commendation - La Croix de Guerre - in 1917.

The "OUR" stands for all of humanity. If the world understood the contributions of man cross-culturally...we would have less fear, hatred and ignorance in this world today. Hammonds House Museum, although it celebrates art from the African Diaspora..these contributions are to be shared with the public in an effort to improve cultural interchange and create bonds with all people. The collage workshop for children attracts kids from all walks of life. Hammonds House Museum..building bridges through outstanding programs and exhibitions!

Jea I couldn't have said it any better. The Hammonds House team headed by Myrna Anderson-fuller - Director and Kevin Sipp - Curator do a fantastic job having great events and exhibits for the entire community. This will be a good event to get the BAIA members out to mingle with collectors, artist and art lovers alike and it will benefit a "OUR MUSEUM". I will be there to support.

The Hammonds House Museum happens to be one my favorite places to be. This gala is perhaps the most festive and unique event of the season. The price is reasonable for dining, dancing, auction and entertainment. Above all, it has been in existence for over 20 years and in order for them to continue to produce outstanding programs and exhibitions...they need your support in terms of tickets and donations. You will enjoy the evening as it literally kicks off the Holiday Season. Join Us! I plan to be there
