Tomorrow I will be conducting a portraiture workshop 10:30-12:30 at the Smithsonian's Anacostia Museum. We will be discussing and demonstrating local and arbitrary color applications for all ability levels. This will be a sensory sensitive workshop.

A Penn State Graduate Student contacted me after seeing my new Art Exhibit at The City Gov't Ctr. and learning about me from Carrie, Director of The Art Assoc. She wants to use me as her subject for her thesis concerning how becoming an Artist has impacted my life since I was forced into early retirement by Crippling Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was really moved by the fact of someone like me with limited mobility, and 24/7 pain can use ART AS THERAPY to not only overcome the blues but create a new career of sorts. I will be interviewed next week at my exhibit sight. I hope to make it as fun & interesting as I can. I'll let y'all know how it goes ;-)

Truly been out of touch and busy lately. I just completed a workshop for children of all ability levels sponsored by the Smithsonian Anacostia Museum entitled "about face" self-esteem through self-portraiture. If you are in DC check the museum website for details. I will be doing another tattoo consciousness lecture this coming Tuesday. All are welcome,

Very excited to be speaking at the Seeds school in Washington, DC about responsible tattoo decision making. The Smithsoninan has sponsored two lectures: one at the school, the other at the Anacostia Museum Dec. 4!

At one time there was a high population of deaf individuals on the island. It was such that many non-deaf  residents learned to sign. Increasingly, over the years, pockets of special needs communities began to pop up around the Vineyard. Camp Jabberwocky located in Vineyard Haven has been in existence since I was a child and it caters to children with cerebral palsy. Nonetheless, the island has been a safe haven for special needs for decades.
