(Fri., Oct., 4th, 6pm - 7pm) -- "How Black Art In America™ & Social Media Work for You". Presenter, Tantra Zawadi, born in Brooklyn, New York , is a performance poet and published author. "I use my voice to raise awareness about issues that are important to women." Tantra is the author of three books of poetry -- her latest, "Bubbles: One Conscious Breath" (Poets Wear Prada), illustrated by Edwin Boone. Tantra has performed original works with the Senegal-America Project, and at venues from New York City to South Africa and directed two short documentaries "Girl: The Film" and "A Silent Genocide - A Brief Insight into HIV/AIDS," as well as collaborations with several artists on spoken word/musical compilations worldwide. Tantra-zawadi is a spiritual activist who holds humanity in the highest regard. She writes from a place that many have tried to understand but have never really been able to embrace. It is probably because she is comfortable enough with who she is to share her naked spirit on the white page. As such, she is one of the most talented artists of her generation, a master painter of the poetic landscape." - Cendrine Marrouat, Canada Independent Artist Examiner.
