 Ablyss Gillespie is a phenomenal artist who has evolved tremendously over the past few years.  Ablyss is from Missouri City (a small city in Houston Texas). She has always been an entertainer, gaining professional experience in dance, modeling, and acting.  Now by day, she is known as sign language interpreter, performing for countless theatrical plays and classes that cater to our youth.  And in the entertainment industry, she is known for her various performances in spoken word, music, and theatre production.

As an author, Ablyss Gillespie successfully published two poetry books, “Rose Window the Realistic Shadow” and “Olivine Wine the 5^th Peridot Gem”, in 2004.  In July 2007, she published her 3^rd book of poetry entitled “A Cycle of Alteration”, which tells the story of a woman who goes through a decade of change being challenged in love, betrayal, death, deceit and self worth.  As a play writer and director, Ablyss Gillespie has showcased several sold out stage productions sharing and expressing real life lessons of the world today.  Again in 2004, she directed a play entitled “Acceptance Shadow”, which focused on the existence of racism within one race.  Then in 2005, she presented the popular “Foggy: The Cause and Effect of Drug Use” and “Inside: Intimidation vs. Intimidation”, breaking down the communication barriers between men and women.  Ablyss Gillespie also showcased the stage play, “Submission Adultery Disease” in  2007 at the historic Silver House Theatre in Houston, Texas.  A portion of the proceeds went toward AVERT a world-wide AIDS foundations.

Ablyss Gillespie debut her first Jazz single “Mama’s Titty” and new published poetry book “A Cycle of Alteration” in an intimate performance at the historical Cotton Exchange Bar and Lounge in Downtown Houston of which percentage of the proceeds went to the YWCA HIP HOP Program.  The title of the event, “Dusty Records”, explained in debut her vintage, jazzy style.  Ablyss Gillespie is an amazing artist and performer and her unique style as a play-writer and director, spoken word artist, singer and songwriter has gained her recognition in cities all over the U.S.; namely, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, New Orleans (LA), Mobile (AL), Little Rock (AK), Memphis (TN), and New York (performed with Kindred Family Soul and Eric Roberson).  She is on the verge of taking this world-class industry by storm.
