Hi Crystal, no I take clear glass vases etc. , wipe them down with white vinegar, which goes into the pores & provides an adhesive surface for the primer. After that dries, I brush on a primer (water based) and then the color background I decide on. When that dries, I spray on a Clear, which solidifies the entire surface. Then I use Acrylics to Hand Paint it. After an hour of drying, I apply a last spray coat of Clear again. The Finished Product, looks like Ceramics.
I buy Lamp Bases fro Goodwill (and other second hand stores) & use the same process from beginning to end. I find that Abstracts provide the most attractive finish.

I just found out that it is actually by Charles Cordier. I LOVE it! I've had the photo for years too. Do you have a website? I'd love to see your work. AMB

Crystal, Thank you for your comments. Regarding the Urn /Vase, most people are surprised to learn that it is actually made of bronze. I love ceramics, but I am afraid to purchase ceramic works thinking that I might accidentally destroy them. Gene Pearson is a ceramicist, originally from Jamaica, who sometimes creates mold for his works so they can be casted in bronze.

I see that you are a multi-talented artist who does pottery, so you probably have some insight into ceramics. By the way, Blues Serenade is really cool!!!
