R.D.Morrison left a comment for David L AndersonI have been drawing since early childhood. Visual arts was my first source of communication, it is now my major source of expression.I am spiritual, I am a Christian, I am quite interested in my culture and our history and alert to social concerns. This is reflective in my artwork. I am not known locally in the Atlanta art community . I moved here in '09', but I began coming here in '94', participating in the National Black Arts Festival and continued until '09'. I'm not known in the art gallery community here because, I showed my work in juried art shows , for almost twenty one years..I was also a performing artist. I once played for an African dance company. I am a self taught drummer. I also have a web site ; n2d-artsinc.com & n2d-arts.com .Trough God, my artistic gifts lifted me from poverty to experiences beyond my imagination.

Yha Yha @Art's My Haven said… The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson. This was an amazing, magnificent book chronicling the history of great numbers of Blacks who began leaving the south to seek a better life in the big cities of the North during the time period between 1915 through 1970.
