Hesi Glowacki aspires to imbue reality with aspects of fantasy. He uses figuration and abstraction, juxtaposing the primitive with the contemporary.Glowacki engages with the meditative qualities of art-making and sincere direct communication through painting and sculpture. He draws inspiration from a wide-range of sources, spanning popular urban culture to Surrealism, abstract art and folklore. Hesi Glowacki often dismantles his materials and reassembles them to invoke the process of reimagining ones own experiences invoking themes of cultural identity, the human condition, and both physical and spiritual transformation. He has a keen interest in African American literature, art, and culture, especially the Harlem Renaissance and Jazz Age. Hesi Glowacki’s works can be found in private collections worldwide. He currently lives and works in London.
