James Ronald Threalkill
James Ronald Threalkill works out of his art studio in Nashville, Tennessee. He has developed significant art programs that have impacted youth of the Nashville inner-city. He created a mural painting program that led to his winning an Emmy Award in 1994 working with students from the Edgehill Center in South Nashville. He traveled to South Africa in 1995 to coordinate a mural project with art students in Soweto. His work captures the vibrant energy of African American life in depicting children, musicians and lifestyle scenarios. He co-illustrated a groundbreaking children's book series called; "Visions" that was featured on Sesame Street. His work has appeared in the Disney Movie "Snow Dogs" and was featured on the "Jamie Foxx Show".
