Lynn McCray’s award winning pottery powerfully declares that although we are made of the dust of the earth, we are vessels of greatness—containing seeds of our divine creation. Her signature works—human faces captured in pottery and elegantly decorated as royalty—bear witness with our spirits that sleeping souls of kings and queens, and princes and princesses lie within us awaiting expression.
These precious pieces also remind us that life is fragile, and greatness cannot be allowed to sleep. Lynn’s life testifies to the power of that awakening. Emerging from a dark valley following her husband’s untimely death, Lynn’s creative genius took new direction premiering in the work Guyana Girl.
Her work has been shown in prestigious shows and galleries from coast to coast including: the Highlands County Art League, the Allen Altvater Art Museum, and the African Women’s convention in San Diego, California. Her pottery has been featured at the Exotic African Fashion Show and at the Celebrity Panel, and commissioned by celebrities.
Not only does Lynn’s heart find expression in her art, but she has long been an advocate of those less fortunate. She is known for her tireless efforts to feed the hungry and homeless, and uses profits from her creative work to sow into humanitarian endeavors.
Lynn is a woman of faith and content to be in her own skin. She is both bold and humble, and not shy about telling her amazing life experiences in animated, masterful detail.
