ATLANTA – Friday, March 13, 2015
Opening Event / Artists’ Talk Friday, March 13, 2015 7:00 PM-12AM

In collaboration with the Smoke School of Art an Atlanta based non-profit art collective; the 9 Ace Gallery will hosts their most recent exhibition Local Colour.

In this exhibition Local colour goes beyond its technical understanding in painting as the effects of color on the eye. Local colour refers to the indigenous perspective embedded in the ethnicity/soul of this southern region. Local colour is emitted from the individual and collective members whose praxis and methodology are rooted in and responding to Atlanta.

Smoke School of Art is an Atlanta based Non Profit think tank that discusses and addresses contemporary philosophy and issues in modern art & culture. We assert that all modern art derives from Africa -all conceptual exercise is derived and conceived in the ancient ceremonies of the Dogon. We are the noble savages that reside on the moon- with rites of passage, shape shifting through the universe. We have special powers embedded in our pigment, hair, and bone. We have been indoctrinated by grimy HIP HOP-you can’t handle our extra muscle.

We are interested in building communities by participating in Exhibitions, Collaborations, Partnerships, Lectures, Critiques, and Educational development.
