"To Face It," a staged reading by Tantra-zawadi from the novel by Lupe Family!

Get ready for a new installment of the staged reading “To Face It,” from the novel by Lupe Family. This one-woman staged reading performed by Tantra-zawadi, explores the depth of personal pain along with the politics, betrayal, sexism, racism and love in the lives of our three main characters in the U.S.A. I don’t want to give it away, but you will see a shift from previous readings. This performance captures excerpts from the best of our last three shows.

This reading will offer a glimpse from a black male perspective. It’s intense, riveting and honest. The event takes place on Sunday, May 7th at the WOW Cafe Theater, 59-61 East 4th Street (between Bowery and Second Avenue) in New York City. Doors open at 5:30pm and the performance begins promptly at 6:00pm. Admission is $15.00 (sliding scale…no one will be turned away). One night only followed by an artist/audience talk back.
