Combining materials and imagery from sources as diverse as African traditions, international politics, the high fashion industry, and science fiction, Wangechi Mutu creates multidisciplinary works that depict fantastical worlds as places for profound exploration of race, gender and power. The New York Times calls this exhibition "visually ravishing."

“Wangechi Mutu: A Fantastic Journey” is curated and organized by Trevor Schoonmaker, the Patsy R. and Raymond D. Nasher Curator of Contemporary Art at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University.

Virginia Overton's new large-scale and site-responsive exhibition "Flat Rock" features works from the artist’s studio and commissioned sculpture comprised of objects sourced in the area around the exhibition site which reframe the relationship between work and environment.

"Virginia Overton: Flat Rock" is organized by Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami and curated by Alex Gartenfeld, Interim Director and Chief Curator.

Virginia Overton will discuss her most recent projects and inspiration for "Flat Rock", her first solo-museum exhibition in the U.S. with MOCA Interim Director and Curator Alex Gartenfeld. Originally from Tennessee, Overton has been featured in over 30 exhibitions since 2010. In May, one of her newly commissioned works will be on view at the Storm King Art Center in Mountainville, NY.
