Black Art In America Debuts at Inaugural Atlanta Art Fair with a Curated Showcase of Trailblazing Artists

Black Art In America (BAIA) Gallery is excited to announce its debut at the highly anticipated inaugural Atlanta Art Fair, October 3-6, 2024, at the historic Pullman Yards. This landmark event will feature BAIA’s exclusive presentation of six groundbreaking artists, including four whose works are rooted in Atlanta’s vibrant art scene.

Attendees will have the rare opportunity to engage with new relief sculptures by Jamaal Barber, who is making waves with his recent commission for Freedom Park’s Temporary Sculpture Program. Highlighted also will be Traci Mims, whose accolades include winning the 2023 Atlanta Printmakers Biennial and a recent acquisition into the Coca-Cola fine art collection. Art enthusiasts will marvel at Najee Dorsey's evocative "This My Baldwin," which has captivated audiences at the Atlanta Mayor’s Gallery and the New York Academy of Art. Additionally, Alfred Conteh’s monumental "Pat and Lil' Pat," a standout from Art Basel Miami, will be prominently displayed. BAIA’s participation in this prestigious fair also marks the introduction of two emerging Nigerian talents: Akinola Taoheed and Sophia Chioma, who represent the next generation of artistic innovation within the gallery’s esteemed roster.

This event is BAIA’s second global art fair appearance in just eight months. Despite a challenging market BAIA has experienced a 25% growth in sales from the previous year. This impressive growth underscores BAIA’s role as a dynamic force in the art world, dedicated to expanding the horizons of both new and seasoned collectors.
